How this is put together
Bus timetables have no concept of a hospital, so we start from the stops: NaPTAN — the national survey of every bus stop — names stops for the hospital they serve. Those stops are grouped into hospital sites, and every route calling at them is read from the operators' own published timetables. The number beside each hospital is its bus routes; 🌙 marks hospitals with a route running in the small hours. First and last times on each page are departures from the hospital's own stops, not from the far end of the route.
Frequently asked questions
Which buses go to my nearest hospital?
Pick the hospital below — each page lists every bus route calling at the hospital's own stops, with the first and last bus on a weekday and on a Sunday, and links to live departure times at each stop.
Do buses run to hospitals on Sundays?
Usually, but less often than in the week — and a few hospital routes do not run at all on Sundays. Each hospital page shows Sunday first and last times separately, which is worth checking before a weekend visit.
Is there a bus to the hospital at night?
Mostly no — but 181 of the 673 hospitals here have at least one route running in the small hours, which matters for night staff and A&E visits. Each page says which routes run overnight and on which nights.
Timetables from operators via the DfT Bus Open Data Service and Translink, rebuilt weekly. Smaller sites with a single bus route are not listed — find those on their town's page. See also buses to airports, buses to railway stations and night buses.
